Bhuleshwar Temple, Pune – Another short drive near Pune – Best time to visit!

Hmm.. Another weekend coming. Same question.. Where to go for short drive near pune or around pune.. start searching over the internet. reading reviews.. etc.. etc.

Same story for me as well. So let me just give you one of my experience to help you search a best historic place for one weekend short road trip.. or may be few repeat visits specially in monsoon 🙂

We all know.. There are plenty of places nearby pune for weekend picnic. Recently I have visited one of them named as “Bhuleshwar Temple”. It’s simply superb experience. It’s mainly for the people who likes peaceful places surrounded by nature.

This place is good for one day picnic… Or half day sight scene trip.

About the temple:

It’s very old temple with superb peace of carving. It’s situated on hill. Bhuleshwar is a Hindu temple of Shiva, situated around 45 kilometres from Pune and 10km from Pune Solapur highway from Yawat. The temple is situated on a hill and was built in the 13th century. There are classical carvings on the walls. Source – Wikipedia

Here are some of the details of my journey.

We have started around 4 PM from Manjri (Near Hadapsar Area, Pune). It’s around 47 KMs from manjri. It took around 1 hour 20 minutes for us to reach at the temple. Good part is even though the temple is located on hill… You can reach to the temple by car or two wheeler.

Road conditions are very good. Once you reach near to that temple… There is a small parking place… From where you can take few steps to reach to the temple. They are flat steps. So it’ll take hardy 10 Minutes to reach to temple.

Driving Tip

But… If you really want to test your driving skills… Then you can take your car even further… And reach directly to the temple backside… Where plenty space of parking is available. Only condition is that last one kilometer is really stiff climb… so make sure you drive your car/two wheeler on first gear only.

If you are coming from pune.. Then take a pune –sholapur highway. Need to take right turn from yavat. see below map url.

Food & Water

Near by the temple there are no shops for any fast food or water. So it’s good idea to bring it with you.

Best time to visit:

During monsoon it’ll be a real pictorial view around the temple. You’ll see lots of greenery and a true sense of nature. In other seasons, try to reach there around 5 PM. You can enjoy the mesmerizing sunset view from the hill. Have great another weekend trip near pune. cheers!!
