TATA Motors has already revealed their aggressive marketing strategy with the HORIZONEXT Event in June this year for their passenger cars. At that time they have displayed CNG variants of Nano, Indigo eCS and Indica. And now as the first step TATA Motors have officially launched TATA NANO CNG called as emax variant for sale.

TATA NANO CNG ’emax’ is powered by 624 CC petrol engine, which gives 33PS of power and 45Nm torque with CNG fuel. As per the company claims it can run 150 Kms on a single refill of CNG tank. This variant offers 32 Liters of CNG tank capacity.
CNG option will be offered on both trims CX and LX, priced at 2.4 lakh and 2.7 lakh respectively (Ex. Showroom Mumbai). And company claimed a class leading mileage of 36 KM per Kg. of CNG. The Nano emax is equipped with a sequential CNG kit that has been pre-configured to its ECU that allows a change to petrol mode when the driver seeks that extra bit of power. It also allows user to shift fuel modes on the fly between petrol and CNG.
TATA Motors has also introduced very good and essential features on the Tata Nano CNG in the form of leak detection sensors and interlock sensors which automatically shuts off the engine while refueling at the CNG station. It’ll be intersesting package for the areas with good CNG availability.
